This collaborative work was done largely at a distance, by Boyle in Montreal and Ashoona in Cape Dorset. The artists each made drawings, leaving sections blank, which were then completed by the other. The work was started by Ashoona, who laid out the land and wild creatures, the Inuk with camera and Inuk holding playing cards. Boyle responded by envisioning the space in between as an inky river leading to a red moon – cohesively merging the two artists’ individual styles.
